Current Beauty Favorites | Love, Hannah Lee by Hannah Martin

Although I haven’t talked much about beauty the past month, I for sure have been trying new products. Makeup and skincare is one of my guilty pleasures. Especially when it comes to trying new products.

Today I am here to talk about what I am currently loving in the beauty world! Most of these things are fairly new, or at least new to me. Prepare yourself for an endless ramble. I have a feeling this is going to be one the longest blog posts I have. But maybe that’s not a bad thing!

  1. Marc Jacobs Splash Pear Eau de Toilette

Recently I was on a hunt for a new fragrance. Considering I had been wearing the same one since probably the 8th grade, I thought it was time for a change. When it comes to fragrances, I love ones that are more on the light and fruity side of things. So, probably about a week ago I was watching one of my favorite Youtubers, MakeupbyTiffanyD, and heard her talking about these new fragrances by Marc Jacobs. Of course when I was running into Ulta for my facial cleanser, I had to go smell them. Lets just say I ended up leaving with a new perfume and no cleanser… oops! It is the perfect scent… well for me at least! Not to sweet but also not to deep and musky. They also have the scents Rain, Cucumber, and Cotton along side Pear of course. They were all really nice scents, this was just my favorite. You should check them out, I have heard they might be limited addition! So grab them while you can.

2.  Becca Shimmer Skin Perfector – Champagne Pop by Jaclyn Hill

I have been meaning to talk about this for a while now, but for some reason I’m just getting around to it now. If you have already tried this highlight, lets just take a minute to cry about how beautiful it is. But seriously, it is gorgeous. If you haven’t tried this or are even remotely interested in it, you need to go swatch it in stores. Or you could just trust me when I say its beautiful. Pictures really don’t do it justice. So to keep this short, this is a peachy golden highlight that look amazing on every skin tone. Coming from a super white chick, I was nervous this would be to yellow/golden for me, but it looks amazing. And I’m positive it will only look even better on deeper skin tones. So go get it, you won’t regret it!

3. Real Techniques Complexion Perfection Sponge

Before this sponge I was a total Beauty Blender addict. I thought nothing could top that dang pink sponge. But $20 f0r a makeup sponge starts to seem a little ridiculous when you need a  new one every few months. Honestly, if the Beauty Blender was at the same price point as this sponge, I would pick the beauty blender. But for the price, this sponge works beautifully! It performs almost exactly like the Beauty Blender, and for more than half the cost. So if you are looking for a cheaper alternative, this is your guy!

4.  Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

In the winter my skin tends to dry up a little more than normal. Since I use skin care products geared towards acne prone skin, things can get dry sometimes. (You can find my skincare routine here!) But with the winter weather, its a little worse then any normal dryness. This would cause my makeup to get dry and flaky in places. Which trust me, was not cute. This primer really does help hold my makeup in place! Even without makeup, this smooths out my skin, which I really love. A few years ago, I used a Smashbox primer that was geared towards lightening dark spots, which seriously worked wonders but is sadly discontinued. Although I wish that one was still available, I am happy to say this one works just as well!

5.  It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation – Illumination

I recently decided I wanted something to make my “everyday” makeup routine a little quicker and also a little lighter. I had heard great things about this powder foundation so I went for it. I was a little nervous it would look too powdery and makeupy. I love wearing makeup, but I hate looking like my face is caked in makeup. But this has such a natural finish, especially for a powder! The coverage is pretty impressive too. I don’t even wear concealer with it.

6.  First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask

This goes back to the dry skin thing. This mask is perfect for any skin type that is looking for a little extra nourishment. I use this about once a week or whenever my skin is feeling a little dry and dehydrated. When I do use this, not only does my skin feel and look moisturized, but it also helps my makeup look 10x better! I actually just used it this morning haha. I almost forgot to mention how much it calms the skin. Coming from a girl with acne prone skin and even some acne scaring, this really does tone every thing down a little. I mean, it’s not going to take all the redness and color out of your skin. But it will help!

7. Nyx Cosmetics Ombre Blush – Strictly Chic

Nyx Cosmetics Ombre Blush

When it comes to blush, I tend to lean more towards the peachy/nude side of things (for reference, Tarte exposed and Mac melba are two of my all time favorites). Typical pink blushes aren’t exactly my go to. Since I had used my Tarte blush literally to death, there was like one tiny crumble left, it was time for something new. There is really no particular reason I choose this blush, besides the color of course. But, it really has great color pay off. Especially for something from the drugstore.

8. Rosebud Perfume Co. Lip Balm Trio

Smith's Rosebud Slave | Love, Hannah Lee by Hannah Martin

This was such a random purchase honestly. What drew me to them was how cute the packaging is, which is probably a bad thing. But they work amazingly! The scents are defiantly more on the natural side. Which I actually like. They are super moisturizing and perfect for on the go since you don’t have to use you fingers. I might be a slight germaphobe but that’s a totally different topic for a another blog post. Ok that might be an exaggeration. I just really don’t like dirty hands, especially going near my mouth.

If you read all of that, props to you! It was a struggle just proof reading it. Even though this is full of rambling, I hope you enjoyed! Hopefully you found something new to possibly obsess over haha. As always, thanks for reading and supporting my blog!

Love, Hannah Lee
