Oddly enough, this time last year I did almost the exact same post; a purple floral dress styled with a denim jacket, titled “Fall Floral”, hence the “round two” in this title. You can check out the old post here. When I first picked up this dress I immediately imagined it styled with my favorite denim jacket. Little did I know, I had already done that on LHL. But hey, I knew it would still be fun to style it and compare the two looks, so here we are! It’s actually pretty funny to look back on and see just how much my style has changed in such a short period of time. Not only is there visible growth in my style, but also in my photography and photo editing. The old post isn’t necessarily bad; it’s just not something I would wear anymore. I actually gave away the dress just a few weeks ago. Goes to show how quickly things can change!
I started my blog just when I began to experiment with different styles. So lucky me has my style journey documented on the internet! Consider it like your early teenage/pre-teen awkward stage being all over the internet. Which actually, my early teenage awkward stage is all over the internet. Facebook became popular when I was in 6th grade and you already know I was all over that with my pre-teen selfies. Although its funny to look back on now, I’m glad I did it. The blog posts this is, definitely not the pre-teen facebooking. At the time I was pretty much trying out any and all styles I was seeing on Instagram. Which included a little preppy, a little edgy, and a little of everything in-between. All of the experimentation eventually landed me where I am now, allowed me to find a new outlet for self-expression and also solidified my personal style. Though I’m sure my style will be forever growing and changing, now I’m a little less lost and a little more confident in my look. For more about how I found my personal style (and how you can too), check out this post.
Did you go through an awkward style stage?
