Hi Friends! I really love the way this tutorial came out and I’m super excited to share it with you guys. A few weeks ago I shot a very similar tutorial for a flower braid, but just wasn’t loving it. I loved the flower braid, but wanted something a little more. And then I came up with this look! I also think this would be super cute not as a half-up look, but a full fishtail with a flower. I’d love to see your take on this flower fishtail braid, so be sure to share your recreations with me over on Instagram (@lovehannahlee). One last thing! These pictures were taken right before I got my hair cut, hence why my hair is still insanely long in these pictures.
Step 1: Start by separating two, roughly 2 inch, sections near your face. You can pull these sections in front of your shoulders and leave the rest back, or simply clip them off. We won’t be using these sections right away, so don’t worry about them right now.
Step 2: Then create two more sections from the back portion of hair and begin a fishtail braid. If you don’t know how to fishtail, you can check out my tutorial here!
Step 3: Then loosen up your fishtail braid to create some extra volume. Check out my post all about making your braids bigger here!
Step 4: Once the fishtail is done, you can shift your attention to the front sections we created in step 1. Start by creating a small ponytail at the base of the fishtail with the front sections, like shown above.
Step 5: Then add a loose braid to the ponytail, and secure with an elastic.
Step 6: Then start wrapping the braid around itself like shown above. This will create the flower shape we are aiming to create. Be sure to secure with multiple bobby pins!
