With the beginning of another school year quickly approaching, I thought this was the perfect time to share my method of planning for school! Some of you might know this already, but for those that don’t, I am totally planner obsessed. I’m honestly not all that organized with my stuff (you should see my room), but my planner is always in tip top shape.

For those curious, in these photos I am using the Ban.do Flordbunda planner, available here. This is one of my planners from last year. I used it for the pictures simply because my classes have not started yet and I did not want to waste space in my current planner! I am currently using this Erin Condren planner (in the horizontal layout) which I am in love with! If you’re interested in an Erin Condren planner click here for $10 off your first purchase!

Alright, not lets get planning! Let’s start with the monthly view. I recommend a planner with both a monthly and weekly view. I find it extremely helpful, especially for school. Both of the planners listed above have both features!

This is the simple supplies you will need! Sticky notes, small dot sticker and your favorite pen. My favorite pen is the Paper Mate Ink Joy gel pen, which you can find here! As for the small stickers, they are available here. If you don’t have access to mini dot stickers or just don’t want to buy them, colored pens or markers will work perfectly fine. I’m also an avid sticky note collector, so of course I will be using them in my planner. I find most of my sticky notes in the target dollar section! It is probably the best section in target, so go check it out if you haven’t already.

The monthly view is where I like to keep track of big events and assignments. I’m not a huge fan of color coding, but I do lightly color code here in the monthly section. I’m also not a huge fan of using different colored pens. I feel like its a lot of unnecessary work to switch between a bunch of pens. So for me, one pen and some colorful stickers work perfectly.

I start by color coding all of my classes in the notes section of my monthly view. Then as the school day goes on I jot down any important dates on a sticky note. Later that day I will go in and mark these events/assignments according to the color code. It might seem like a lot of work, but it is so worth it in the long run.

Then in the weekly view of my planner I simply put down any big events/due dates as they come along and a running to do list for that day. I’m not one to do things the simple way, so of course I like to decorate a little. When it comes to school and days with what seems like endless to do’s, some light decoration can make things a little more fun. I like to use washi tape and some occasional stickers. I have what seems like an endless collection of washi tape; some of my favorite rolls are shown below. My favorite places to get washi are Target, Michael’s and Etsy
