I know I’m jumping the gun a little when I say “winter skincare”, especially with the mini heat wave we had this past week. But as soon as the temperature drops, even slightly, my skin immediately changes. Although I still consider my skin to be relatively oily, it definitely becomes dehydrated throughout the cooler months. Now, as much as I love to splurge on skincare, you know I also love a good bargain. So I thought it would be fun to share products on both ends of the price spectrum. Although I tried my best to keep the prices low for the “save” option, it’s hard to find cheap and effective skincare now-a-days. All the products linked below are some of my favorites and would recommend them to just about anyone! Enjoy.
Save: Evian Facial Spray
Splurge: Juice Beauty Hydrating Mist
Hydrating mists are one of my favorite ways to instantly give my complexion some life. I’ve found that they don’t give as much of a long-term effect, but are great for when you need a quick boost! Ever since I started using Juice Beauty in my skincare routine, I’ve loved exploring the world of natural skincare. The Evian mist is simply water, but it still manages to make your skin feel instantly refreshed. If you’re some who likes instant gratification (who doesn’t??) a hydrating mist is the product for you!
This time of year I like to add a slightly heavier and more hydrating moisturizer to my skincare routine. Only at night though; I’d look like an oil slick by the end of the day if I applied a heavy moisturizer in the AM. Last winter I purchased the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream formula. Which is designed for dry to extra dry skin unlike the water-gel formula which is designed for normal to oily skin types. Although this product was amazing at keeping my skin soft and supple, this winter I decided to get a little fancy and try a high-end night cream. I really love what this Korres sleeping facial does to my skin! It leaves it beautifully hydrated and brightened. They both hydrate amazingly, the pricier one just has more of a luxurious feel and effect.
Splurge: First Aid Beauty Eye Duty
The skin around my eyes gets dried out very easily, regardless of the weather. For the longest time I was using Vaseline or coconut oil, but didn’t love how they never fully absorbed into the skin. First, I tried the Neutrogena Hydro Boost for eyes. Originally, I didn’t look much into this purchase, which is very unlike me, but I knew I loved the moisturizer so I just went for it. It worked perfectly for the longest time. But recently I decided I wanted something a little heavier. Since my skin can be sensitive to certain ingredients and fragrances, First Aid Beauty was the first place I looked. I ended up finding this eye balm which I LOVE. It is fairly thick, but the hydrating results are just perfect.
